The cover says it all. It is a collection of my travels with a little twist.
In April of 2016 I told a friend of this idea. The book, “Beautiful Places to Pee”. He told me to start taking a photo every day of where I peed and post it.
I of course did not do a good job of taking a picture every day but I'm getting better.
This all started when I realised how calm and relaxed I get when I pee in nature. That by taking a moment to relieve my body I automatically take a moment to look around and appreciate my surroundings. It’s the same when I’m driving. I stop at beautiful view points to enjoy the view and pee. Taking this time lead me to thoughts about what it means to pee on the earth. I’ve always questioned indoor toilets. Do you know how much clean drinking water is wasted on flushing your pee down the drain to a sanitising plant. It doesn’t make sense! Your pee has nutrients in it. Nutrients that some plants need. Nutrients that the earth needs. It’s not as scary as we have made it out to be.
I have strong beliefs on how we as a society have moved away from nature. Separating ourselves from natural cycles. Peeing on the earth is one way I feel I can reconnect and give thanks.
As you can probably tell by now this is not just a book or Instagram page to see pictures of my travels. That’s only 1/4 of it. It's also about this planet, our connection to it, and how we can be a beneficial part of it.
